The Investiture ceremony is a formal event where the approved applicants (known as 'Postulants') receive the accolade (dubbing) and are accorded the honor of becoming a Knight or Dame of the order during a sacred ceremony known as a Convent and Investiture (C&I). The C&I is a solemn rededication and spiritual renewal, during which the new Postulants (prospective members) are received into our Order -The Priory of the Christian Soldier.
The Priory of the Christian Soldier invest membership upon those men and women who deport themselves in an honorable and chivalrous manner, who are committed to the Order's values and precepts, and who are Ecumenical in thought.
The Priory currently schedules one Convent and Investiture per year, usually in October. As the Priory of the Christian Soldier has members primarily in Southern California, Nevada, and throughout the Southwest; the location of the C&I is in Long Beach, California, as it is centrally and easily accessible to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), John Wayne - Orange County (SNA) Airport, and of course Log Beach Airport (LGB).
The Vigil Dinner and Vigil are held on the Friday evening before the C&I. The Investiture is held on Saturday and a Reception follows shortly thereafter. A Banquet honoring the Order and the new Knights and Dames is held that Saturday evening.
If you are interested in joining in our good works and you would like to be contacted by an officer of the Priory to explore what it means to be a Knight or Dame in this faith based charitable Order, and beginning the process of determining whether your membership is in our mutual interest, please visit our Contact Us page and let us know you are interested..
